Grégoire Winterstein works in formal semantics and pragmatics. His work is centered on the study of the relations between natural language interpretation and the process of argumentation. He uses Bayesian modeling, experimental and computational methods to capture the meaning and social aspects of various natural language markers and examine their effects on argumentative reasoning in a variety of languages (French, English, Cantonese).
