Reading group: MUSIC AND EMOTIONS
When: Every second Thursday from 13:00 to 14:00. First meeting September 20.

Are the effects of music on emotions, or music-induced emotions, part of your research interests and activities? Are you interested in learning how music brings us pleasure and why it is so rewarding? Have you always wanted to know more about the differences between felt and perceived musical emotions, musicians and non-musicians, instrumental and vocal sounds?
In this reading group, we will critically discuss recent articles that explore those questions using different methods and techniques (EEG, fMRI, Machine learning, psychophysics, etc.). We will discuss the pros and cons of those techniques and what we can learn from them about musical emotions. We will also explore the possible applications of those techniques in our own projects. Is there an article you always wanted to read or share with your colleagues? Suggestions are welcome!
