Mini-workshop on Speech Learning and Neural Responses
Visiting speaker Dr. Bharath Chandrasekaran (University of Pittsburgh) will act as a discussant for this workshop, which will include short presentations by the following CRBLM members and students:
- Esther Schott (PhD student, Byers-Heinlein Lab, Concordia University) – “Mispronunciation detection and cognate processing in bilingual toddlers”
- Ana Maria Gonzalez Barrero (Postdoc, Byers-Heinlein Lab, Concordia University) “Bilingual adjusted vocabulary size: A developmentally-informed bilingual vocabulary measure”
- Pauline Palma (PhD student, Titone Lab, McGill University) – “Is long-term memory of novel words impacted by knowledge of a second language?”
- Tristin Best (Undergraduate student, Phillips Lab, Concordia University) – “Working memory capacity predicts auditory discourse processing in bilingual older adults”

- Robert Zatorre (PI) for Sebastian Puschmann (Postdoc, Zatorre Lab, McGill University) “Effects of musical training on auditory cortex connectivity while listening to natural speech”
