Workshop
CANCELLED: Lunchtime discussion: An inside perspective on academic job applications
**This event has been cancelled**
Wondering what it’s really like to apply for academic jobs, but not sure who to ask? Come chat with CRBLM research associates who have experienced the ups and downs of applications, interviews, and job talks. This is not a CAPS workshop, but rather a chance to talk about the less formal aspects of the process and ask what’s on your mind – How do you know if it’s worth the effort applying for specific job? How long should you expect to spend on each application? How do you navigate applying to the same jobs as your friends? Do you get to find out who else is interviewing for the same position? Bring your questions and a hungry stomach!
When: Tuesday, March 31, noon to 1:30pm
Where: Room 101, Rabinovitch House, 3640 de la montagne
Pizza (including vegetarian options) and drinks will be provided. You are alternatively welcome to bring your own lunch. Please register by March 25 so we know how much pizza to order.
Accessibility: The workshop is held on the ground floor, although the entrance to the building is five steps up from street level. There is a gender-neutral washroom on the same level as the workshop. Participants are invited to make us aware of any barriers to their participation or any accommodations that we can provide. info@crblm.ca
