Dr. Quintin’s research is designed to elucidate the trajectory of cognitive, socioemotional, and brain development throughout childhood and adolescence with a focus on music perception and cognition. Her work focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders and fragile X syndrome, and employs a combination of cognitive-behavioral and neuroimaging methods and cross-sectional and longitudinal research designs. The overarching goal of her research is to produce results that can improve diagnostic procedures, education programs, community and family services, and mental health care for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
