Reading group : Experimental Syntax
This reading group will focus on the relationship between experimental syntax and theoretical linguistics. It is targeted to students (and faculty) both in and out of the Linguistics Department.
There are two angles that will be considered: how can theoretical questions be addressed experimentally and how does syntactic processing relate to syntactic structure.
Each meeting will consider one experimental syntax article suggested by a group member. This group member will serve as that week’s facilitator and give a brief introduction to the article and the method. This reading group is organized by McGill students from the Linguistics department, SCSD department (School of Communication Sciences and Disorders) and the Neuroscience department.
As an interdisciplinary reading group it is open to anyone interested in linguistic syntax regardless of their background.
Meetings will take place every week at the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (SCSD), McGill University, 2001 McGill College St, 8th floor
When : Meeting time will be announced later…
This reading group is organized by Gouming Martens, Alexandre Herbay, and Max Wolpert.
